First day at Oxford

Well, like the title says, my first proper day as the Music Technology officer in the Faculty of Music at Oxford University.

Aside from lunch in Christ Church, where apparently they film 'Harry Potter' (whatever that is,) things are already looking busy, with the upcoming British Forum of Ethnomusicology conference, and a visit from a group of Princeton academics in the next couple of weeks, but I am most pleased about finally meeting (and recording a workshop wiht) Trevor Wishart, the first composer to use audio morphing in his work, and getting to ask him about the inspiration behind his Vox-Cycle series of pieces. It seems likely - touch wood - that Trevor will be joining us for a morphing related research project this Autumn, which would follow on neatly from my own thesis and research work.

Very exciting!
