I visited the side-chapel of Christ Church College this evening to record a series of short (and not-so-short!) pieces, including several premiere performances by composers like Martin Suckling, John Caldwell, and Guy Newbury, for the annual Music Faculty Lecturer-Composers concert.
Here's a pic of Stephen Taylor (counter-tenor) rehearsing with Guy Newbury (piano) just before doors opened.
The side-chapel was a lovely sounding venue, despite the huge and of course, ancient, ceilings. I've just had a quick listen back, and the recording is surprisingly intimate sounding, especially with the chamber-music esque pieces (there was a huge variety of work on display). Caught some footage of the event and will update you as bits become public domain via the Faculty website.
Ta ta for now.
