Falling Walls Berlin 2018, and AES York 2019!

Hello,

I was delighted to be shortlisted for the final of the Falling Walls Engage - a science communication award - held last week as part of Berlin Science Festival. This was for our work on Dolittle, a DC Labs project which uses technology and anthropomorphism to engage the public with conservation and biology. Collaborators include The Deep in Hull and the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust. Unfortunately, we didn't win - but amongst such a fantastic group of finalists that hardly mattered!

Secondly, we are very busy behind the scenes working on the forthcoming York AES conference, which I am proud to be papers co-chair on. The call for paper submissions is now closed, but if you are interested in submitting an engineering brief, that call will open shortly.
